It’s been a long week, you don’t have the energy to cook but you also have little ones to cater to. What’s a parent to do? Luckily, for us in San Diego County, there are kid-friendly restaurants. And, when we say “kid-friendly” we don’t just mean macaroni and cheese on the menu; we mean an actual space for kids to play while parents relax and eat their meals.

Here are our picks for five kid-friendly restaurants in San Diego County.

Stone Brewing in Escondido

A longtime favorite among craft beer lovers, Stone Brewing in Escondido not only has a delectable menu but there’s a garden area for kids to explore. Children will also enjoy seeing the fish, checking out the trail and relaxing on the grass as parents enjoy their meals. On Thursday evenings, you’ll also find live music.

The Station Tavern

Located in South Park, The Station Tavern is home to delicious American eats such as burgers, sausages and tater tots. But parents will also find a designated children’s area for kids to play, roll around and be silly. There’s also a faux train car to keep kids busy.

Farmer & the Seahorse

Here’s a restaurant that will keep kids occupied. Farmer & the Seahorse has it all from a grassy area, an airsteam in the middle of the restaurant and a tractor outside. The little ones will enjoy exploring all that this eatery has to offer. Plus, parents will love the contemporary menu from duck confit hash to chicken and waffles.

Ember & Still

Ember & Still takes pride in preparing fresh and seasonally inspired-food, but they also take pride in catering to the tots. Here you’ll find everything from kid-friendly movies to game boards to a giant Jenga. The kids area is also home to Pac-Man video games, causing some parents to head to the area too!

Corvette Diner

The ultimate kid-friendly restaurant title goes to Corvette Diner. For the older kids, you’ll find a restaurant with an arcade, balloon artists and servers who dance their hearts out. From spaghetti and meatballs to burgers to grilled cheese, your kids will also approve of the 50s diner’s menu.
