A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck 6 miles north of Borrego Springs at 8:14 p.m. Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake’s depth was 12 kilometers.
It’s the second minor quake in a remote part of San Diego County this month. On Oct. 3, a temblor initially recorded at 3.2 rattled an area around 21 miles northeast of Ramona, officials said.
Another quake hit near Borrego Springs in July. It was measured at a magnitude of 3.6, a couple of miles west of the community.
