On November 30th, 2022, the world changed.
It was then that OpenAI introduced ChatGPT, and suddenly, all the old rules were thrown out the window, and a new way for humans to obtain knowledge was here. The AI Revolution had officially begun… but just as America’s War for Independence didn’t start with the Declaration of Independence, the groundwork for the explosion of artificial intelligence has been in the works for many decades.
The ASU+GSV Summit has achieved its prominence in the learning world in large part by helping our community see the future before it was clear. In fact, AI has been a key theme of ours since our first conference in 2010. Moreover, we featured “generative AI”—the magic behind ChatGPT—a full year before it was introduced to the public. AI is like AIR… it’s invisible, it’s ubiquitous, and you are going to need it to live.
Technology is moving at an exponential pace, yet human capabilities have historically grown at a linear rate. While AI is disrupting every aspect of society, including education and the future of work, it also provides the opportunity to learn in ways that heretofore couldn’t be imagined. Cheaper, faster, and better has always been the formula for success, and AI enables this. It also facilitates “just in time learning” replacing “just in case” learning.
We call this Learning at the Speed of Light.
We see a tomorrow that can advance humankind to levels previously unimaginable, with innovation flourishing like no other time in human history. Knowledge isn’t going to be replaced by AI—it’s going to be accelerated by it.
The ASU+GSV Summit and The AI Show @ ASU+GSV will hold their annual global gatherings in San Diego, April 5th through 9th at the Manchester Grand Hyatt and Convention Center.
