It took more than four periods, but the San Diego Sockers defeated the Tacoma Stars 4-3 Sunday in OT. After a loss to the Stars in Tacoma in the season opener, the Sockers have ripped off 10 consecutive wins.

The first two periods saw a back-and-forth game, as both teams traded goals which led to a 3-2 lead after two periods for Tacoma. Tavoy Morgan for the Sockers scored the first two goals for San Diego.

The entire third period and almost all of the fourth saw no scoring, until San Diego finally broke through with three minutes left on a Luiz Morales goal, assisted by Kraig Chiles.

Chiles would then come through with the game-winning goal with just over three minutes left in OT. The goal went through a lengthy review to determine if there was a foul, but the goal was upheld and it sent the Shockers to their 10th win in a row.

The Sockers have now gotten revenge on the Stars multiple times for the season-opening loss, as San Diego beat Tacoma 9-5 in January.

A three-game road trip lies ahead for the Shockers, with a trip to Kansas City to face the Comets up first.
