A man armed with a handgun robbed a clerk at a business in the Del Cerro neighborhood, police said Tuesday.

The robbery happened at 11:37 p.m. Monday at a business in the 6300 block of Del Cerro Boulevard, according to Officer John Buttle of the San Diego Police Department.

The suspect walked into the business, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the register, the officer said. The clerk complied and the suspect left the location in an unknown direction.

Nobody was injured during the robbery.

Police say the suspect was wearing a black motorcycle helmet and a gray sweater, black shorts. He had a thin build and was about 5-feet 7-inches tall.

SDPD robbery detectives were investigating the robbery.
