Two people, one of them unconscious, were pulled from the surf off La Jolla on Friday night.
Rescuers were alerted to the victims about 7:45 p.m., according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department lifeguards.
Both were taken to a hospital.
The unconscious patient was airlifted from the scene and the other person was in serious condition and was undergoing CPR, lifeguards said.
The victims were a man and a woman who tumbled down a cliff, NBC7 reported.
