The state has suspended the license of a Rancho Bernardo daycare center where a 64-year-old man allegedly molested children and shot kiddie porn pictures, it was reported Wednesday.

The state Department of Social Services suspended the license of the Kid’s Castle Day Care on Matinal Road, which is run by Katrien Sediqi, ex-wife of Abdullah Sediqi, 10News reported. Abdullah Sediqi lived in the house where the day care was operating, authorities said.

State officials alleged Katrien Sediqi “failed to provide a safe environment and violated or allowed others to violate the personal rights of children in care.” She also failed to report Abdullah Sediqi’s arrest on suspicion of child pornography and lewd and lascivious conduct, according to an accusation document posted on the television station’s website.

Abdullah Sediqi was arrested in Escondido on June 13 for allegedly attempting to take up-skirt photos, which led to the discovery of the child pornography and his re-arrest last week, according to Escondido Police.

Sediqi’s cellphone was forensically analyzed during the investigation and was found to contain more than 6,000 photographs — including what police described as graphic and disturbing images of children. Police said many of the children depicted in the photos went to the day care center operated by his ex- wife.

The images and video on Sediqi’s phone allegedly showed him molesting four toddler girls, 10News reported.

Sediqi has since pleaded not guilty to 13 charges, including committing a sex crime with a child 10 years old or younger. He is being held in the Vista Detention Facility in lieu of $3 million bail and faces life in prison if convicted.
