A two-run single by Yangervis Solarte in the 11th propelled the San Diego Padres to a 6-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves Thursday afternoon.

Tempers flared in the first inning when Atlanta right-hander Julio Teheran hit Padres outfielder Matt Kemp with a fastball

After a hard slide from Braves shortstop Andrelton Simmons into Derek Norris Tuesday night, Simmons was plunked by Padres right-hander Tyson Ross Wednesday night, and then outfielder Justin Upton was subsequently hit the following inning.

After Kemp was hit Thursday, both dugouts emptied and both teams were warned. Nobody was hit following the warning in the first.

The Padres stole three runs in the eighth to tie the game 4-4 on a wild pitch, walk with the bases loaded and a catcher’s interference call.

This came after the Braves scored two in the seventh on a questionable no-call in which Atlanta shortstop Jace Peterson hit a ball twice out of the batter’s box for an RBI single, when it should have been ruled a foul ball or out.

The play is not reviewable under MLB rules, and manager Bud Black was ejected for arguing the call.

Centerfielder Wil Myers returned from the 15-day disabled list Thursday and went 0-5 with a run, walk and two strikeouts in his return.

Closer Craig Kimbrel threw a perfect 11th inning for his 15th save of the season.
