Periods of rain, mountain snow and gusty winds are expected this weekend in parts of San Diego County, with dry and warming conditions expected next week, forecasters said Saturday.

A wind advisory will remain in effect until at least 11 p.m. Saturday for county deserts and mountains, with winds from 25 to 35 mph and potential gusts to 55 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Officials advised securing outdoor objects and using caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.

A small craft advisory remains in effect until at least 8 p.m. Saturday for coastal waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican Border and out to 30 nautical miles to waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican Border extending 30 to 60 nautical miles out, including San Clemente Island.

Weekend temperatures were below average, with highs in the mid-60s in the downtown San Diego area. Partly sunny conditions are expected Sunday, with light gusts in the afternoon and a high near 64 degrees.

The deserts are expected to be mostly clear and sunny, with highs reaching the upper 90s by mid-week. Mostly clear conditions are expected in the mountains, with highs in the low 70s to mid-80s.

Along the coast, partly cloudy conditions are expected next week, with daytime highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Inland valley areas are expected to be a mix of partly cloudy and clear conditions through Friday, with highs reaching the mid-80s.

Sunday’s San Diego surf forecast includes a high-risk rip current, with surf height from 3 to 5 feet and a west swell from 270 degrees and a south swell from 210 degrees.
