Firefighters Sunday responded to a small blaze sparked by a car fire on Interstate 15.

A white truck was reported to be on fire in the shoulder of southbound I- 15 at Carmel Mountain Road at 4:06 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire spread into nearby brush, and fire crews were called in, the CHP said. The fire was mostly extinguished within about 15 minutes, but as of 5:30 p.m., crews were still dealing with flames caused by fuel going into a storm drain, causing traffic delays in the area.

No lanes were closed as a result of the fire, according to the CHP.
