
The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Mexico Business Center honored U.S. and Mexican government leaders and a growing bi-national business Friday at the Annual International Tribute Awards Gala.
The awards recognize outstanding individuals and businesses that have made a significant impact in the bi-national efforts bridging the U.S. and Mexican economies. The honorees were:
- International Trade & Commerce Leadership Award — California Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de Leon
- Bi-national Business of the Year Award — UETA/Duty Free Americas
- Cross-Border Collaboration Award — Mtro. Gilberto A. Hirata Chico, Mayor of Ensenada
“The chamber’s Mexico Business Center is committed to advancing policies and relationships that support our overall success as a unified bi-national community,” said Jerry Sanders, president and CEO of the chamber. “The Tribute Awards are our opportunity to recognize those in the community who share this vision and are leaders in enhancing our region’s position in the global economy.
De Leon delivered the evening’s keynote address to an audience of more than 200 guests at the Hotel del Coronado.
