The body of a man was found Sunday inside a truck that had overturned and rolled into a ravine near Warner Springs, according to authorities.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire and San Diego County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 30847 Chihuahua Valley Road on Sunday afternoon near Valley Oak Lane.

A Warner Springs woman called the sheriff’s office Sunday morning to report that her husband was last seen Saturday at about 4:40 p.m., according SDSO Lt. David Perkins, who said deputies launched a helicopter as part of the search and also tried getting the husband’s cell phone location.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday, the unidentified woman located her husband’s truck, which was overturned in a ravine about a mile and a half from home. Deputies could not reach the vehicle and called Cal Fire for help.

Once it was determined that the 43-year-old man had died, the case was turned over to the CHP Sunday afternoon as a fatal single-vehicle crash, according to Perkins.
