Runoff in 80th Assembly District a Crystal Ball into California Democrats’ Future

A June runoff election looms in one of the more contentious of an unusual flurry of special elections prompted by the “Great Resignation” of California legislators. The 80th Assembly District race is a crystal ball for the state Democratic Party.
