Before “Leo” and “Remy” trot onto the field Sunday for Puppy Bowl XXIII, San Diegans can get a sneak peek at the furry MVPs — and do some good — on Saturday.

In true Puppy Bowl fashion, all San Diego Raising Cane’s locations are getting in on the fun. Swing by on Saturday, mention Helen Woodward Animal Center, and 15% of proceeds will head straight to the Rancho Santa Fe–based animal welfare organization.

Want to meet the stars up close? Head to the Mira Mesa Raising Cane’s from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where Sir Remington Fluffypoo Esquire II and Leonardo da Barky (Remy and Leo to their fans) will be holding court, along with Puppy Bowl alumni. This marks the seventh straight year Helen Woodward Animal Center has sent pups to compete in the big game — clearly a dynasty in the making.

The tail-wagging continues Sunday with an official Puppy Bowl watch party starting at 10 a.m. at McGregor’s Bar & Grill in Mission Valley. The 22nd annual Puppy Bowl kicks off at 11 a.m. and will air on Animal Planet, Discovery, discovery+, TruTV and more.

Expect a cornhole tournament, canine-themed food and drink specials, and plenty of photo ops. The party takes place on the dog-friendly patio, and guests 21 and older are encouraged to bring their own four-legged fans along. Best of all, 10% of all food and drink sales will go right back to supporting the pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Cute dogs, good eats, and a cause worth cheering for — Puppy Bowl weekend doesn’t get much better than that.
