The San Diego Gulls scored a season-high three power-play goals and Chris Wagner scored an even-strength goal in the first period and an empty net goal in a 6-2 victory over the Texas Stars Friday evening.

Dustin Tokarski stopped 25 of 27 shots and the Gulls killed all five of the Stars power-play opportunities to win for the 11th time in their last 13 games.

The Gulls (29-14-2-2) needed just four seconds to score on the first power-play opportunity as Corey Tropp scored off a pass by Andrew Welinski 11 minutes 58 seconds into the first period.

Texas (24-24-1-2) killed its next short-handed situation, but left wing Kevin Roy scored on the next one, putting a shot past Maxime Lagace 8:51 into the second period, giving the Gulls a 3-2 lead, the first of their four consecutive goals.

The Gulls took a 4-2 lead on their fourth power play, with Antoine Laganiere poking a loose puck into the net with 46 seconds left in the second period.

Nick Sorensen deflected a shot by Jeff Schultz past Lagace for his seventh goal of the season 5:56 into the third period.

Wagner scored a shorthanded empty net goal with 4:22 left before a crowd at Valley View Casino Center announced at 10,216.

Jason Dickson opened the scoring for the Stars, 7:22 into the first period. Travis Moran scored Texas’ other goal at 7:27 of the second period.

The victory completed the Gulls 4-0-0-0 sweep of the season series against Texas, the Dallas Stars American Hockey League affiliate.

Lagace made 14 of his 25 saves in the second period.

The Gulls, the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate, will complete their three- game homestand Saturday against the Rockford IceHogs, the Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate.
