In the third episode of the San Diego Politics Show, presented by Times of San Diego, we spoked to County Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe and broke down the City Council race in District 2.

Montgomery Steppe discussed her attempts to patch the social safety net the county is tasked with providing, even while federal support for those programs is on the decline.

For the panel segment, show host Matt Strabone led a discussion with me and Axios San Diego’s Claire Trageser, a long-time City Hall journalist. We broke down the effect of former Coronado Mayor Richard Bailey’s entry into the District 2 race, deputy city attorney Nicole Crosby’s path to an endorsement for the county Democratic Party and how the other two major Democratic candidates — Josh Coyne and Mandy Havlik — can make their way into the general election.
