Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday nominated San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher to serve on the California Air Resources Board.
Fletcher, 42, is a member of the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District in addition to his seat on the Board of Supervisors. He also sits on the Metropolitan Transit System‘s Board of Directors, the Regional Task Force on the Homeless and the San Diego Association of Governments‘ Transportation Committee.
“I am honored to be appointed by Gov. Newsom to serve on the California Air Resources Board,” said Fletcher. “It will be a privilege to work with leaders from across the state to adopt policies to tackle climate change and improve California’s air quality. I look forward to working with the Senate during the confirmation process to earn their trust to serve in this important role.”
Board members are typically compensated, but Fletcher, as an elected public official, is not eligible for compensation.
