Official recording of real estate documents has resumed at the county of San Diego’s Kearny Mesa office, eight years after the service was suspended, Assessor/Recorder/Clerk Ernest Dronenburg Jr. announced Friday.

The service was cut in 2009 at the office because of the recession.

“Reopening this service has been a goal of mine to better serve our San Diego customers,” Dronenburg said. “The public will save on time and gas money, and will still get the same great customer service experience as they would in any of our branch offices.”

Real estate document recording is now available at all county offices, also including the County Administration Center downtown, Chula Vista, El Cajon and San Marcos.
