Hello, Point Loma and Ocean Beach!
For all of you who attended the Taste of OB— just know that I am seething with jealously.
I’ve never actually attended it. I did work it two years ago. Back when I worked at Brew Wave Coffee, the storefront with blue-trim around the windows in the OB mall. If you stop in and meet Rob, tell him Tessa sent you.
If you want to keep the neighborhood fun going, but with a bit more festive flair, I’ve got you covered.
Emo vs. Pop-Punk night at The Holding Company on Friday, Oct. 24, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 to purchase the day of. Sure, it’s a monthly-ish occasion, but this time around costumes are highly encouraged.
OB People’s Annual Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 25, from noon to 3 p.m. It’s a free event for all ages with the start of the show being pumpkin painting. Pumpkins are available while supplies last, and costumes are highly encouraged.
California Wild Ales is holding their own pumpkin carving event, also on Saturday at noon. The event is free, except its BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin). But if you don’t have one on hand you could drop twenty bucks on its pumpkin and pint combo.
