Hello, Navajo and College Area!
Class is back in session, and San Diego State University is making history.
Mission Times Courier Editor Dave Thomas reports that SDSU welcomed a record number of enrollees this school year: More than 40,000 between the main campus and SDSU’s Imperial Valley campus. When you add in the school’s global campus, online degree and professional certificate program, fall enrollment is predicted to top 43,000.
With school starting this week, and K-12 students also back in session, traffic has picked back up in Navajo and College Area but so has the vibe. We love seeing school back in session and our area businesses teeming with customers.
Plus, we’re excited to introduce you to Calista Stocker, a new intern for Mission Times Courier and Times of San Diego. Stocker is a fourth-year journalism major and sociology minor at SDSU. If you have tips on covering Navajo and College Area, reach her at calistas@timesofsandiego.com.
