The price of fun

I have a quick question for you all: How often do you make it over to Viejas Arena?

There’s a good chance I’m naive in thinking that folks who live in College Area make it over there more frequently then the rest of us. But you can let me know at tessab@timesofsandiego.com.

Originally I landed on this thinking when I saw an advertisement for Kaytranada’s upcoming show. If you’re not familiar with him, take a listen when you feel like dancing. It also works if you don’t feel like dancing, he’ll probably change your mind.

As much as I enjoy his music, truly, why I don’t make it over to Viejas for concerts is Ticketmaster and those egregious prices. There’s been a lot of talk around “dynamic pricing,” the highway robbery plaguing live entertainment. I’ll spare you my two cents.

I don’t want to leave you with a feeling of helplessness and nothing to do. So, here’s something to do that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg: Go see “Merrily We Roll Along” at San Diego State University’s Main Stage Theater on Saturday Oct. 25 at 2 p.m.

Want something to do without spending a cent? Visit the photo exhibit “Reencuentros: allá nos vemos / See you there” at SDSU’s art gallery. It’s open from Tuesdays through Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m., until Dec. 4.
