Local indie rock darlings Pinback will host a homecoming show at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on Oct. 17. Three days later, Humphreys Backstage Live will host a birthday event for the late singer Jesse Davis, who passed away in late 2024.

Music to the ears of stranded airport passengers in Burbank was news Monday that air traffic controllers in San Diego were stepping in to help. The government shutdown had left the suburban Los Angeles airport unstaffed, but a team based in San Diego coordinated with pilots arriving and departing.
Controllers are currently working without a paycheck, but the San Diego team was still ready to help.
