Good morning, San Diego.

The first crewed flight to the Moon in over 50 years ended at 5:07 p.m. Friday with a successful splashdown in the Pacific Ocean off San Diego, as our Chris Jennewein covered.
San Diegans showed up for their moment in the spotlight. Residents filled Balboa Park, the Hotel del Coronado’s temporary “moon deck” and beaches up and down the coast to experience it surrounded by strangers (even if they had to livestream it on their phones, since there was nothing to see in the sky).
“This is the just beginning,” said NASA Administrator Jacob Isaacman after the landing. “We’re going to get back into this with frequency, sending missions to the moon.”
No surprise, that historic moment yesterday off the coast of San Diego is our top story. But if you were caught up in it, you might have missed another big story.
• Rep. Eric Swallwell, a leading Democratic candidate in the race for Governor, is now under intense pressure from party allies after the San Francisco Chronicle, and then CNN, reported on multiple accusations of sexual misconduct against him.
