Happy Thursday, Pacific and Mission Beach!
Despite the unseasonably warm weather tricking us into thinking it’s summer, it is still February — and with Super Bowl Sunday this weekend, there’s plenty to distract us from six more weeks of winter. 🏈
I’m admittedly not a football fan, but even I can appreciate the social and cultural impact of the Super Bowl. Between Bad Bunny’s upcoming halftime performance, reported threats of an ICE presence at the event and the game’s status as one of the biggest marketing stages of the year, all eyes will be on the Seahawks vs. Patriots matchup this Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Luckily, our beach bars know how to bring the energy, with many offering special deals for the big game.
Duck Dive in Pacific Beach is hosting NFL GameTime specials on food and drinks. Call ahead to make a reservation as it’s expected to be busy.
Over in Mission Beach, Sandbar is offering a Touchdown Package that includes reserved seating, drink tickets, hosted appetizers and all-you-can-eat tacos. Tickets start at $75 and can be purchased at this link.
If you’d rather watch from home, Guava Beach has takeout deals, including its popular wings – but pre-orders must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 6.
Other local hotspots like Maverick’s and PB Local will be hosting celebrations as well. However you choose to mark the end of football season, the neighborhood has you covered.
Have a great weekend!
