The week begins with a continued search for survivors of a Cessna 414 that went down off the coast of Point Loma. We have a little more information about the six missing occupants — which include the pilot, his wife, and a father with his three children.

In other news, the chair of the local Democratic Party has taken a leave of absence as District 1 voting continues (if you’re eligible, don’t forget to cast your vote if you haven’t already) and the Trump administration’s latest travel ban, which was announced Wednesday and goes into effect today, affects visitors from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

The move is receiving strong criticism and harsh condemnation from civil rights advocates.

Continuing the theme of living in interesting times, immigration on everybody’s mind whether we like it or not, as Los Angeles is transformed into a battleground. How will this end? It’s anybody’s guess.
