Good morning!

It’s not Monday, it’s Tuesday. If you got yesterday off, here’s your official notification that we’re back from the long weekend.

Also, today’s my birthday, so I’m keeping it brief this morning.

There were ceremonies and events everywhere yesterday, but much of San Diego honored its fallen in the traditional way: by flocking to local beaches.

Meanwhile, a dramatic police chase in La Mesa ended peacefully with the arrest of a domestic abuse suspect — but not before a relative of the suspect had to deliberately step out in front of his car to stop it.

Finally, locals aren’t thrilled with the city’s budget cuts, Tony Hawk gives his head to Liquid Death, and mild and sunny Memorial Day will give way to warmer weather this week, so plan accordingly.
