Hello, Uptown!

It’s almost time for Adams Avenue Unplugged, a celebration of live music that’s taking place on Saturday. The event features 90 performances in venues, restaurants, bars and coffee shops located in the two miles that include University Heights, Normal Heights and Kensington.

Starting at noon and ending at midnight, this musical walkabout is free, open to the public with the exception of the headliner’s ticketed performance at the main stage. Guests have the freedom to attend as many or as few performances as they choose throughout the entire day and enjoy music, food and drinks.

This year’s headliner is rock icon Alejandro Escovedo, who will be performing at the historic Normal Heights United Church. One thing you might not know about Escovedo: He spent his teenage years in the San Diego region. Read about it here.

Other performances include indie-folk artist Aly Roswel, trilingual cover band Puro Feeling and ’80s-inspired new wave band Rock of Ages. You’ll find there’s something for everyone!
