Good morning, San Diego.

Tessa Balc, Audience Engagement Producer

The Olympics are coming to San Diego, folks. Maybe not the torch, but a couple sports will host their competitions in the county.

It was announced yesterday that six cities around the U.S. will host Olympics fútbol, and Snapdragon Stadium is one of those venues.

But it won’t be known as such during the Olympics.

While the stadium is on the world’s stage, it’ll be known as San Diego Stadium. Clever, huh?

If soccer isn’t your thing, you can count on catching a few sets of Olympic surfing in (somewhat) San Diego County. Trestles Beach, on the border of San Diego and Orange County, will host the sport for the upcoming games.

Tickets for the 2028 games go on sale this April. If you want to read more about soccer at “San Diego Stadium” check out our top story.
