Good morning, San Diego.

Fútbol season is here which means something for San Diego now that we have a team, notably a good one.
Coming off of a historic inaugural season, SDFC might have set the bar extremely high for this season but our contributor Hector Trujillo writes that a “sophomore slump” is not to be expected.
If you recall, last month SDFC announced that it would be parting ways with Hirving Chucky Lozano. While there are still questions swirling about how SDFC is going to handle the star forward’s departure, it’s been made pretty clear that he won’t be part of the team going forward.
That’s one of a few changes that went down over the off-season, from player trades to contract extensions, all the way over to the unveiling of a new uniform with a full-fledged fashion show at the Salk Institute.
The team will officially kick off their second season Saturday with a home match against CF Montréal. There will be plenty of opportunities to see the team at Snapdragon — complete with special “celebration nights” from free jerseys to Dreyer bobbleheads for the first thousands of fans to arrive.
