Hello, Navajo and College Area!

If you’re a College Area/Rolando resident, chances are you’ve stumbled upon Corbin’s Q. Now, making the same drive down El Cajon Boulevard, you might have noticed that the nine-year-old Corbin’s Q sign now reads “Barlando.

However, inside still contains the same familiar faces, including that of owner Corbin O’Reilly, who has recently transformed the storefront from a comfortable barbecue joint into a hopping nightlife scene.

“It’s trying something a little different, but it feels so right,” O’Reilly said. “And all the steps we’ve made, so many more people are coming out supporting, it’s definitely kind of shook up the business world for people.”

For O’Reilly, this change is a good thing. A chance to take advantage of the growing Rolando neighborhood and invest in a new chapter for himself and the community.

But don’t worry, O’Reilly’s famous barbecue is never out of style, as Corbin’s Q is now solely a catering business.

“It’s a different business experience. The restaurant versus the catering world are different worlds,” O’Reilly said. “And I want to keep the core of the quality of catering in Corbin’s Q world, and then I want to build up the nightlife of Barlando.”

O’Reilly has been in the San Diego barbecue scene since he sold his first Corbin’s Q meats at the La Jolla Farmers’ Market in 2013.
