Internships play a key role in our mission to educate the next generation of journalists. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce you to one of our summer interns.
Please meet Alexa Vazquez from the University of California, Berkeley, who will write for the Mission Times Courier.
Vazquez is a rising senior who focusing on entertainment and culture when not following the latest local news. The Chula Vista native has written extensively for The Daily Californian and interned at both SAY San Diego and the Blum Center for Developing Economies.
“I’m excited to write and report on the city I grew up in,” Vazquez said. “As a journalist, I’m getting to know the people and the places from a whole new perspective.”
