Beach & Bay Press weekly update

Today’s newsletter is presented by Brian Barber & Donna DuPont of Coldwell Banker.

Hello, Pacific and Mission Beach!

Julie Main
Julie Main, Times of San Diego operations and community relations manager

We believe in local news. To ensure we can sustain community journalism for years to come, we need a strong pipeline of talent.

Internships play a key role in our mission to educate the next generation of journalists. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce you to one of our summer interns.

Please meet Gabrielle Wallace from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University, who will write for La Jolla Village News.

Wallace graduated from ASU in May and will return in the fall to pursue a master’s degree in mass communication. She previously interned at the Cronkite News bureau in Washington, D.C., and AZ Big Media. The Texas native also will cover public health and health care issues.

“I’m looking forward to covering a new beat in a new city and diversifying my reporting skills,” Wallace said.

Find a collection of Wallace’s stories here.

Have a story idea? Feel free to email Wallace and Beach & Bay Press News Editor Thomas Melville.

P.S. Please join me in congratulating Melville, who recently received a third-place award for “design elements – feature photo” for his work in the Beach & Bay Press from the Society of Professional Journalists San Diego chapter.
