Lobby for your local favorites

Last week, I shared some local spots for your Valentine’s weekend. This time, it is your turn to spread the word of YOUR favorite Navajo and College Area businesses! And not just for one weekend, but for the entire year.

The Best of Mission Times San Diego contest is now open for submissions and voting in 62 retail shop categories and 49 restaurant categories!

From best accountant to best yoga studio, there is room for even your most niche retail shop recommendations. Same goes for restaurants — categories range from best ahi to best wings. 

With the growth of San Diego State University and the city as a whole, Navajo and College Area are putting themselves on the map. Amid the opening of many new food spots — like Joyee’s Dumpling House and SciEats Eatery — the 2nd annual Taste of College Area was held last September. 

Of course, you can never forget about classic College Area and Navajo stops, such as Living Room Coffeehouse and Mona’s Italian Restaurant. 

So, nominate and vote for your go-to spots. You only have until March 6 to try some new spots and report back any standouts to the Best of Mission Times.
