Today’s newsletter is presented by addressSD.com.

Hello, Uptown!

Shanti Velasco

Today I bring you yet another North Park hidden gem that you should try if you’ a’re looking for a way to kick-start the night with a drink — or coffee.

If you have to call it an early night but don’t want to miss out on an opportunity to be with friends and enjoy some live music and good food, I have just the place for you.

Mixed Grounds is a Vietnamese-owned coffee shop in North Park that operates from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It offers a stage for local musicians and artists to showcase their work, connect with other creatives and provide entertainment for customers. As March comes to an end, here are three events you can attend there this weekend.

Friday, March 27 | Link SD Open Mic

Between 6 and 10 p.m., Mixed Grounds is hosting an open mic for anyone who wants to try their hand at live performance or is looking for an opportunity to showcase their musical abilities.

Saturday, March 28 | R&B Dance Lesson and Party
Step out of your comfort zone by attending an R&B dance lesson and reward yourself by having some of the food available from Papas Pacific Island BBQ.

Sunday, March 29 | SDSU Cafe Club

San Diego State University’s very own cafe hopping club will be visiting Mixed Grounds between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for interested members, featuring a talent show, music performances, food vendors and even a live DJ set.

Up for a late-night coffee, live music or simply looking to add a new favorite coffee shop to your list? Access Mixed Ground’s full March calendar here!
