Have you been following the La Jolla Town Council turmoil?
Eight members have departed since April, with some resigning in protest over the policies and leadership style of the current president.
And last week, five new trustees, appointed by LJTC president Mary Soriano, were sworn in: Arthur Myo, Don Searcy, Karan Gurung, Kevin Healy and Simeon Rosas.
The group’s bylaws were also unexpectedly amended to decrease the number of council members from 12 to seven to satisfy quorum requirements.
The La Jolla Town Council acts as a liaison with the city on land use, beautification, crime and other community issues.
