Good morning, San Diego.

Remember when election day used to be just that: a day. It may feel like a misnomer now, but we still do have a deadline for when we need to return our ballots. So, I guess it is safe to still call the event Election Day rather than “The Conclusion of Election Month.” It’s a lot less wordy too.
If that was breaking news to you, but you still want to be in the loop, head over to our Instagram or Facebook. We’ve been changing things up over there, and one of our latest reels is on what you need to know to make sure your vote counts.
As you all probably know by now— especially if you comb through these newsletters and just watched our recent reel— Proposition 50 is what’s on the ballot. In Poway, though, residents get an extra item. Voters will decide whether to recall councilmember Tony Blain, who was recently indicted on multiple felony charges. Yikes. We’ll see how that goes.
If you’re still making your decision, we’ve got a featured story today answering some common questions on Prop. 50.
Polling places are open across the county from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. Ballot boxes close at 8 p.m. as well. Happy voting!
