Pacific Beach Chalcifica ADU project still alive despite default notice, resident opposition

Recently, Pacific Beach residents discovered public notices near a proposed ADU project, known as Chalcifica, that said the property was in default and will go up for auction if the developer, SDRE, doesn’t catch up on the payments owed.

Since SDRE revealed the scope of the Chalcifica project β€” [One] Single Family House with 125 ADUs, and later modifying that permit application to the construction of two homes and 134 ADUs β€” some Pacific Beach residents have offered significant pushback.

But those notices posted at the site are without merit, according the the president of the development company that now owns the site.
