Hello, Point Loma and Ocean Beach!

It’s that time of year again— the Beacon’s Best Of Ocean Beach 2026 is open for nominations and voting!
You get to vote and nominate for 89 awards in the restaurants category and 94 in the retail category. The restaurant section has awards from best atmosphere to best espresso and everything in between.
Same goes for the retail category — from best electrician to best doctor. So, get thinking.
These awards are a perfect way to honor some of the small businesses in town for what they do and recognize their contribution to our community. There are so many great places to eat and shop in our neighborhood, and it’s worthwhile to go in and vote so your favorite one can get the recognition it deserves.
One of the places that makes OB feel like home for me is OB Beans Coffee Roasters. Not only is the espresso really tasty, but the atmosphere is always fun and easygoing. I usually grab an oat cappuccino, chat with the baristas and watch the passersby through the window.
I could sit there for hours with a friend while we people watch and catch-up with each other. What place makes OB home for you? Nominate it for a category in this year’s awards!
