
A moderate earthquake that struck Baja California on Monday night was felt in parts of San Diego, the U.S. Geological Survey said Tuesday.
The magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck near northern Baja California at around 11:41 p.m. Monday, with slight tremors reportedly felt on the outskirts of San Diego County.
Initial reports estimated the magnitude as high as 4.7 before it was officially confirmed at 4.2, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake’s epicenter was around 6 miles deep and about 165 miles southeast of San Diego.
