
A wildfire scorched swaths of brushy open terrain Tuesday in the far southern reaches of the San Diego area, but no damage to structures or injuries were reported.
The fire began at about 2:30 p.m. off Humphries Road in Tecate, just north of the U.S.-Mexico border.
By 3 p.m., the burn area had grown to roughly 30 acres, according to Cal Fire.
As of shortly before 4 p.m., crews had managed to stop the spread of the blaze.
