It’s looking like a nice weekend ahead with low clouds clearing out west of the mountains each morning and increasingly warmer temperatures, the National Weather Service said.
Warming was expected for the latter half of next week with high temperatures for next Friday in the deserts around 5 degrees above average and within a few degrees of average elsewhere.
Night and morning low clouds could extend inland into portions of the valleys, but not very far into the valleys by the end of next week.
Along the coast Saturday, it was expected to be partly cloudy in the morning becoming mostly sunny with high temperatures around 70 and 72 inland. The valleys were expected to be mostly sunny with highs from 72 to 76 and 76 to 81 near the foothills, the NWS said. It will be mostly sunny in the mountains with highs from 76 to 86. The deserts were expected to be mostly sunny with highs from 100 to 104.
Minor day-to-day differences to slight increase of high temperatures could continue through Tuesday. For Wednesday into the first weekend in July, high temperatures should steadily increase as the trough of low pressure near California weakens and high pressure to the east strengthens and expands westward.
Dry weather should continue through the end of the month, forecasters said.
West to northwest wind gusts to around 20 knots were predicted to prevail over the outer coastal waters each afternoon and evening through Tuesday.
