Celebrity chefs and brewers will gather at the Waterfront Park this weekend for the Brew & Food Festival.
Chefs Chad White and Javier Plascencia will headline the event Saturday.
Festival goers who access the VIP area can expect to sample foods such as whole hog gordita, ceviche and lamb.
Restaurants such as Sausage & Meat, Salud!, The Regal Seagull and Cousins Maine Lobster, among others will also offer samples at the festival.
When it comes to brews, attendees can expect to sip on more than 200 beers from 32 North, AleSmith, Bitter Brothers, Black Market, Modern Times and Lagunitas.
The festival, which kicks off at 3 p.m., will be complete with pop-up surprise tastings, two live music stages and a silent disco dome with dueling DJs.
Tickets are $40 for general admission and $80 for VIPs.

A Mad Fair
The San Diego County Fair officially kicks off Friday, bringing in the summer season. The year’s theme is “Mad About the Fair.” Fair-goers can expect to see plenty of fried food, carnival rides, concerts and competitions. Some of the highlights of this year’s fair include a wine festival, a beer festival, a 5K and a bluegrass festival. The fair runs through July 4.
Gelato for Films
Want to support a great cause with your sweet tooth? Gaia Gelato in Carlsbad will host a fundraiser to benefit the San Diego Italian Film Festival. The event features a gelato tasting, plus information on how gelato is made and tips on how to use gelato to create other delectable treats. The North County event kicks off at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person.
LGBT Film Festival
The San Diego LGBT Film Festival runs through the weekend at The Observatory in North Park. The lineup for the 18th annual event include films such as “Kiss Me Kill Me,” “Shared Rooms,” “Flatbush Luck” and “Upstairs Inferno.” Tickets for the festival, which is hosted by FilmOut San Diego, ranges from $10 to $30.
Brewing company Belching Beaver will host its third annual classic car show Sunday. Attendees can expect to see various cars and enjoy delicious beers and foods. Live music will also be provided by jazz group, Hippermusic. Tickets are $20 each with proceeds benefitting the Marsoc Foundation, which supports military families. Prizes and raffles will also be available. The event takes place from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
