The San Diego-based Jack in the Box Foundation has given $325,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters to fund military mentoring and other programs, the restaurant chain announced Tuesday.
The money was raised during the 24th annual Jack in the Box Charity Golf Tournament, which was held Friday in Indian Wells. Deborah Condon, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County, accepted the donation.
The money will be used to support the volunteer agency’s work to provide mentors to the children of members of the military and disadvantaged kids, according to the foundation.
The Jack in the Box Foundation has given more than $600,000 this year to the organization, which pairs children with volunteers who encourage them to succeed in academic and personal endeavors. In January, Jack in the Box Inc. donated $250,000 raised through sales of $1 ornaments over the holidays.
Since it was founded in 1998, the Jack in the Box Foundation has contributed more than $7 million in financial and in-kind support to Big Brothers Big Sisters, according to foundation officials.
