At The O’Farrell Charter School, students are taught not only what to learn but how to learn. The school’s Habit-Building Framework integrates lessons on planning, time management, and academic support across all grades, reinforced with expanded after-school and morning study labs.
“Strong study habits are the foundation of student success,” said Cindy Wagner, superintendent of The O’Farrell Charter School. “We’ve woven intentional routines — from structured classroom lessons to dedicated tutoring spaces — so our Falcons build resilience, independence, and motivation every single day.”
The program includes lessons on goal setting, calendar use, and prioritization, built-in study periods and one-on-one advising during the school day, and family resources such as workshops, take-home planners, and digital toolkits. DIVE after-school sessions provide structured tutoring and morning study labs led by credentialed educators, a news release said.
“When students see study habits modeled, practiced, and reinforced at every turn, they gain the confidence and self-advocacy skills that translate to success far beyond their report cards,” Wagner said.
