A woman was stabbed Wednesday at the City College Trolley Station in downtown San Diego, and a suspect was taken into custody following a brief chase.

The stabbing was reported about 3:55 p.m. near Park Boulevard and Broadway, according to San Diego Police Officer Anthony Carrasco.

“A female victim received non-life threatening wounds,” he said. “Trolley Transit Security chased the suspect a few blocks before taking the suspect into custody.”

The suspect’s identity and gender were not immediately available.

Police said there will be an increased law enforcement presence in the area as the investigation continued.
