– A man believed to be in his 30s was injured in a suspected propane explosion at a Lemon Grove residence, authorities said Monday.

Deputies responded around 12:30 p.m. Sunday to a blast in the 8300 block of Broadway, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Firefighters with Heartland Fire & Rescue along with Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Substation deputies arrived within minutes and determined the “minor” explosion happened in the living room of the home.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was driven by a neighbor to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, sheriff’s officials stated.

An investigation was ongoing but detectives with the Sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Unit said all indications pointed to a propane explosion.

The cause of the explosion was unclear.
