Two people were taken into custody and one person was seriously injured on Tuesday morning during a suspected DUI-related crash in the College area.

The crash was around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, when a woman behind the wheel of a black Toyota 4Runner allegedly ran a light and hit another vehicle at the intersection of Collwood Boulevard and Montezuma Road, the San Diego Police Department told City News Service.

The driver of the 4Runner reportedly failed to yield while being pursued by officers, but eventually pulled over shortly afterward, police said. She was taken into custody along with the passenger.

Their names were not immediately available.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital. The person’s name has not yet been released.

Police said the suspects’ charges included fleeing from an officer and possibly driving while under the influence.
