At least one person was killed in Ramona after authorities found a burning vehicle, they said Saturday.

The first report to the California Highway Patrol came in at 11:58 p.m. Friday, regarding a small SUV fully engulfed in flames at the intersection of State Route 67 and Quail Rock Road.

At 12:21 a.m. Saturday, the body of a pedestrian was found two miles away from the burning SUV. A drone search was requested to determine if another pedestrian was struck in the area of the burned SUV.

There was no word on whether a second person was found.

State Route 67 was ordered shut down between Archie Moore and Highland Valley roads while the investigation continues.
