San Diego Gas & Electric is hosting its second Wildfire Safety Fair of the season on Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rancho Bernardo Community Park, 18448 West Bernardo Drive, San Diego. The free, family-friendly event is designed to help local communities prepare for wildfire season with hands-on resources, expert advice, and emergency preparedness information.
Attendees can expect safety kits, food, drinks, and giveaways—available while supplies last. Representatives from SDG&E, CALFIRE, and community-based organizations will be on-site to answer questions and share tips for protecting homes and families from wildfire risks.
A highlight of this year’s fair is the return of SDG&E’s popular brush-clearing goats. Guests can meet the goats, feed them, and learn how they help prevent wildfires by managing overgrown vegetation. The goats also star in their own SDG&E Instagram account—@thegoatsdge—where followers can track their work and pick up safety tips year-round.
Speakers at the event include CALFIRE’s public information officer, SDG&E spokesperson Roland Franklin, and bilingual spokesperson Humberto Gurmilan.
