A SWAT standoff Monday morning, at a home followed by a search in the National City area, involved a suspect connected with an alleged stabbing that put at least one person in the hospital Sunday night.
Officers were first dispatched at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday to the victim, who was being treated for apparent stab wounds at Paradise Valley Hospital in an unspecified condition, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Law enforcement ended up near the intersection of Winchester St. and Rachael Ave., where the suspect was reportedly inside a home near the border of Paradise Hills, SDPD said.
It was unclear what prompted the stabbing that led to the standoff.
Police officials said they attempted to draw out the suspect from the residence, but that after an hour without a response discovered the suspect was not in the home.
The alleged assailant, whose identity was not released, remained at large as of 1:45 p.m., according to police.
An update on the condition of the stabbing victim and details on the alleged assault were unavailable Monday afternoon.
